The Maryknoll Wildlife Shelter and its carers are registered with the Department of Sustainability and Environment pursuant to the Wildlife Act 1975

Jenny and Reg Mattingley
Jenny and Reg became wildlife carers in Beaconsfield in 1987.  They decided to establish their own shelter when they moved to Maryknoll in 1990 and are well known and respected throughout the wildlife care network.  They have cared for hundreds of native animals and have extensive experience with wombats, wallabies, echidnas, possums, sugar-gliders and many different varieties of birdlife.  Apart from caring for animals in and around their home, they are often called out to wildlife rescues at all hours of the day and night.  Jenny & Reg have a close working relationship with local vets and Healesville Sanctuary.

Marilyn and Colin Rastall
Marilyn and Colin have been with the Shelter since 2005 and they specialise in the care of wallabies and possums.

Linda and Derek Berkhout
Linda
and Derek have been with the Shelter since 2005 and specialise in native birds.  They also provide an essential service by transporting casualties to the Shelter from outlying areas.

Carmel and Jasper Hailes
Working with animals has always been a passion for this couple.  Having finally retired they now specialise in raising wallabies and have a wonderful set-up where they can soft release back into the wild from their bush property.

Gabi  and John Cumming
Gabi, John and their family joined the Shelter in 2009.  They are currently having a wonderful time raising baby wombats and installing all the necessary enclosures required to see them through to release.

The Maryknoll Wildlife Shelter is equipped to care for all native fauna.
